Top Ten Reasons To Buy Organic Homemade Soap

10. Organic ingredients are paramount.

In recent years people have really been on an organic kick and I thought, “why is this a new phenomenon?”  It was not that long ago that people were making their own soap out of the cinders in their fireplace and animal fat. Ingredients that you can pronounce are good for you and your skin and have awesome health benefits  while giving you piece of mind.

9. No synthetics, dyes, colorants or artificial fragrances

I try to only use organic oils in the soaps I produce.  I usually use organic essential oils and when I cannot obtain a smell in the organic option, I use therapeutic grade oils.  I also, do not use colorants or dyes and let the oils speak for themselves.  Each oil used gives the soaps a different color and hue.

8. Moisturizing

Organic soap is more moisturizing and has health benefits. Coconut oil, with it’s moisturizing and disinfectant properties combined with a dose of vitamin E, is great for obtaining healthy skin. Shea butter, with its skin healing properties, have been held in high regard since the time of the Pharaohs in Ancient Egypt.  All of my soaps are made organic coconut oil and in some soaps like Purely Peppermint shea butter.  A LITTLE WEIRD SOUNDING

7. Wonderful gifts for any occasion.

Have you been two weeks away from a birthday, Mother’s Day or Christmas and cannot think of a gift idea?  A homemade gift sends a really personal touch to the recipient and the gift giver. This type of gift says that thought was put into the gift and it is not run of the mill or generic.

6. No synthetic materials

The FDA has been quoted saying, “Today there are very few true soaps on the market. Most body cleansers, both liquid and solid, are actually synthetic detergent products.” These synthetics, which you usually cannot pronounce, can potentially be absorbed by the skin (the body’s largest organ) and sometimes get into the bloodstream causing problems.  No preservative or synthetics equals a happier, healthier you.

5. Support a Cottage industry

When you buy my soap or any other homemade product you are supporting a local business and that comes with a slew of benefits.  You get to know the person behind the product and can build a relationship with them. There is typically better customer service then a generic or box store and above all it’s more personal.

4. Cruelty-Free

Most organic soaps are cruelty-free, meaning they’re not tested on animals which is a super thumbs up. Natural and organic products are also better for the environment, too. Organic ingredients are grown without chemicals and pesticides, both of which can pollute the water supply, air, and soil.

3. Easier to Travel

Using a bar of handmade soap is easier to travel with and will not be confiscated by TSA.  I know we have all been in the same situation, you want to bring your favorite liquid soap on vacation, but it’s more than four fluid ounces and has to be dumped.  With a bar of soap there is no dumping and wasting your soap anymore.

2. Wonderful Glycerin

Glycerin isn’t added to a handmade soap recipe – it’s created during the soap making process! Most soaps have the glycerin removed for and manufacturers often add synthetic ingredients, detergents, foaming agents and chemical fragrances to the glycerin-lacking soap to simulate the properties of what was removedGlycerin is a precious emollient that softens and maintains water balance by attracting moisture to your skin. It is proven to be so beneficial to your skin that it is extracted from commercial ‘soap’ and reserved for higher priced body care, hygiene and pharmaceutical products. Handmade soap retains all of its natural glycerin glory and produces a rich and luxurious lather that is unparalleled to any other.

1. Antibodic and Anti-Fungal

This is really strange, where did i get this. There are so many antibiotic qualities in handmade organic soaps.  Several of the natural oils that I use in my soaps are naturally  contain antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. These work as nature intended and are completely natural. And as an added bonus, the soap often includes the essential and organic oils that come with the plants used.
